Project Manager — Vancouver & Calgary Vancouver, BC

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our team of Solution Specialists to support the delivery of web-based collaboration solutions and custom applications. The ideal candidate has a consulting mindset and aspires to earn a trusted advisor relationship with clients. This role will involve time on-site, doing face-to-face problem solving with clients.

Responsibilities

• Leads project teams and is accountable for overall project success.
• Responsible for assigned projects, including management of scope, budget, risk, resources, plan/timeline, internal communications and external client communications.
• Determines staffing needs for projects, and works with resource management and other project managers to coordinate assignment of staff to projects. This may include working with a small number of subcontractors and/or partners.
• Presents to clients regarding project methodologies and controls
• Ensures internal and external client escalation procedures are followed in a timely manner for prompt problem resolution on projects
• Develops and maintains an understanding of our clients’ solutions
• Builds new and leverages existing client contacts to identify new business opportunities
• Provides services time/effort estimates and project plans for use in proposals
• Participates in, or leads, knowledge-sharing activities and makes contributions to our knowledge-base. This may include working with and/or providing presentations to internal groups/resources
• Participates in Project Management team review of PM processes and actively develops/contributes material to PM Centre of Excellence as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years project management experience focused on information technology solutions including custom software development, solution implementation, infrastructure planning, and system integration projects
• Project work experience in a variety of technologies, platforms, and environments
• Consulting experience with external clients in competitive situations
• Strong leadership abilities
• Bachelors Degree (minimum), preferably in Business or Computer Science
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel, including US travel, when necessary

Nice-to-have Skills and Experience

• Project experience with Microsoft Office and Enterprise applications
• Deep vertical industry knowledge in one or more of the following: financial services, municipalities, resources sector
• Knowledge of ERP systems and enterprise integration
• Awareness of agile modelling and processes such as XP
• Good sense of aesthetics and human factors (UI design)
• Desire to improve processes and organize
• PMP Certification
